Casual Hoteles opens its first hotel in the Balearic Islands today
03/04/2025April 3, 2025. Casual Hoteles has taken advantage of the start of the new summer season to open the doors of its first hotel in the Balearic Islands: the Casual Bahía Ibiza. For the Valencian chain, its opening marks a milestone for two reasons: it is the first Spanish hotel it has inaugurated outside the Iberian Peninsula, where it is already present in the autonomous communities of Valencia, Madrid, Catalonia, the Basque Country, and Andalusia; and it is the first to offer services beyond just accommodation and breakfast, such as a restaurant, a chill-out area, and a swimming pool with a sunbed area.
According to the president of Casual Hoteles, Juan Carlos Sanjuán, “We are very happy with this opening because we had long wanted to be present in one of the most cosmopolitan destinations in Europe, and in such a great location as the one Casual Bahía Ibiza has in Sant Josep de Sa Talaia. It is a municipality that perfectly combines the natural beauty of unique sites like the Ses Salines Natural Park and quiet, family-friendly beaches like Port de Torrent beach, which is a 5-minute walk from the hotel, with the historical richness of Ibizan culture present in places like the artisan market of Platja d’en Bossa, among others.”
Furthermore, he explains, “it is a special hotel for the chain, since the uniqueness of the destination, the hotel's existing facilities, and its proximity to a residential area have allowed us, for the first time, to offer services in addition to the accommodation and breakfast typical of Casual hotels. In this regard, we believe that the 'casual' style of the new El Fameliar restaurant, which is characterized by international cuisine with fusion touches, will be very well received by our guests and by local residents.”
An interior design project that pays homage to Ibizan coves:
As it could not be otherwise, Casual Bahía Ibiza has linked its interior design project to the destination where it is located. And speaking of Ibiza, this destination is named after its coves. For this reason, interior designer Raquel Sanjuán, responsible for the conceptualization of the space, has linked each of the hotel's 42 rooms to a different cove.
And yes, although it may seem like a high number, the reality is that Ibiza has about 80 coves, and these are the 42 that the decorator wanted to pay tribute to in this themed hotel: Nova, Alto de Porta, Es Canaret, Salada, D’Hort, Bassa, Molí, Ses Balandres, Llentrisca, Saladeta, Benirrás, San Vicente, Gració, D’Es Cubell, D’En Serra, Sa Caleta, Olivera, Portinatx, Port de Torrent, Pluma, Escondida, Vadella, Mastella, Pinet, Comte, Aubarca, Es Pujolets, Xarraca, Es Portitxol, Llonga, Gracioneta, Codolar, Xuclà, Sa Ferradura, Espart, Atlantis, Martina, Llentia, Pou D’Es Lleó, Es Cucó, Jonc, and Llenya.
In addition to the name, the Ibizan style is present in all the hotel's rooms through a Mediterranean aesthetic of relaxed elegance, which stands out for the use of natural materials that provide warmth and naturalness to the whole. This is the case with the rattan of the headboards and the wood of the auxiliary furniture, which appears aged on the ceiling, emulating this typical element of traditional Ibizan houses.
Regarding the colors, they are mostly inspired by nature, combining in some rooms the tones of sand, beige, and stone gray, which create a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere, evoking the landscapes of Ibiza; and in others, earthy green tones, which recall the island's natural environment and add a touch of freshness.
Finally, another important element of the rooms in this new hotel is the natural light, which enters through large windows and creates a sense of continuity with the Ibizan landscape observed from the balconies.
El Fameliar, a very “casual” international restaurant:
When designing the menu for “El Fameliar,” the chain’s first restaurant, whose name comes from a fascinating character in Ibizan mythology, a very “casual” approach was chosen. Simple, practical, and very summery, but with personality, and designed for the whole family.
Thus, one can find numerous dishes to share and dip, such as “nachos with fondue,” “beetroot hummus with celery sticks,” or “sardine rillettes with vegetable chips”; vegetarian specialties such as the “poke bowl with rice, avocado, tofu, and mango” or “roasted eggplants with tabbouleh,” and a selection of exquisite burgers, such as “curry chicken” or “vegetable with salmon.”
Furthermore, there is no shortage of classic dishes for children, such as “chicken nuggets” and “short pasta with cherry tomatoes and parmesan,” or delicious desserts like the “pistachio passion with fresh mint syrup,” the “yogurt semifreddo with coconut puree,” and the “chocolate temptation with blue curaçao sauce,” among others.
Family and pet-friendly rooms, a “trademark”:
Despite its innovative nature in many aspects, Casual Bahía Ibiza remains faithful to three elements that have captivated many of the Valencian chain’s repeat guests. We refer to the fact of having real triple rooms, with 3 real beds and not folding beds, something that guarantees the comfort and rest of all its occupants; having bathroom amenities from the exclusive Rituals brand; and being an authentic “pet lover” hotel, where pets are more than welcome, offering them a free stay if the booking is made through the website, a small bed with a water and food bowl, and a welcome snack.
