Casual Hotels chosen as the "Chain with the best Corporate Social Responsibility"
07/06/2024June 7, 2024. Casual Hoteles is in luck, as it has just been chosen "Chain with the Best Corporate Social Responsibility" in the 14th Edition of the Roca Awards for Hotel Initiative, one of the best-known in the tourism sector in our country.
According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán, president of Casual Hoteles, who was responsible for collecting the award during a gala held yesterday in Barcelona, "these awards recognize the effort we are making to reduce the impact that our actions have on the environment, to guarantee the future of new generations through a change in society, and to ensure that our business offers an absolutely responsible and sustainable tourism activity."
In this sense, he recalled that, "since we created our own Sustainability department in 2023, we have intensified the development of initiatives that are helping us reduce our company's carbon footprint and drive a change in our society. Among them, it is worth highlighting the signing of an agreement with the marketer Conecta2 EnergÃa, which provides our establishments with clean and 100% sustainable energy, sourced exclusively from renewable sources; the implementation of an ecological cleaning system with ionized water, and the recent participation in the regeneration of a forest that was deforested 500 years ago to build the ships of the Spanish Armada, among many others."
At the same time, he concluded, "we have been the first hotel chain to create a social movement with the aim of changing its environment, going beyond the purely economic objective. The Casual Movement, which we presented last March, seeks a shared transformation of society, through a positive change in which we have invited companies, people, and institutions to participate. For us, every personal change, no matter how small, contributes to the transformation of the world."
This is the second award obtained this year that rewards Casual Hoteles' Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, after the chain was recognized last January with the First HOSBEC Tourism Sustainability Award, in the "Best Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy" category.
