If you're going skiing in Sierra Nevada this year, stay one night in Granada.

November 21, 2024. With the start of the winter season, many are beginning to organize a snowy getaway. If this is your case, and you are considering going skiing in Sierra Nevada, set aside at least one day to enjoy the city of Granada.

As has happened with other provincial capitals, Granada has become a top-tier tourist destination. Not only for its artistic wealth and historical legacy, represented mainly by the Alhambra and the Cathedral, but also for its quality hotel offerings and the wide range of activities it offers for the whole family.

From walks through the viewpoints of the Albaicín, tours of the old souk, emulating Tadeo Jones in “Tad, the Lost Explorer and the Secret of King Midas”, and tastings of Arab sweets on the street of tea rooms, to relaxation sessions in a beautiful hammam or the most authentic performances in a flamenco tablao, among many other possibilities.

If you stay at the centrally located hotel Casual Ilbira Granada, located in the heart of the Realejo neighborhood, you will be able to visit all these points of interest on foot. In addition, thanks to its original interior design project, you will be able to immerse yourself in the destination without leaving its facilities, since its 41 rooms are themed and incorporate designs related to different parts of the city. One of them is dedicated, precisely, to Sierra Nevada.

Go skiing for the day:

Another option for lovers of white sports can be to stay in Granada, taking advantage of the more economical price offered by city hotels during the winter season, and going skiing to Sierra Nevada during the day.

Whether with your own vehicle, in private transport, or with the regular buses that connect Granada and Sierra Nevada 3 times a day on weekdays, and 4 times on weekends; it will take you less than an hour to arrive and get on the slopes. If you want to travel light, rent the equipment in any of the shops at the station; and book your ski pass in advance to avoid queues.

At the end of the day in the snow, return to Granada and, if you still have energy, enjoy an exquisite dinner at one of the many restaurants in the Plaza de Bib Rambla, and end the evening taking a walk through the beautiful Paseo de los Tristes at the foot of the majestic Alhambra. We look forward to seeing you!
